World War Z Game Now Available For Download

Beginning today (May 30), an iOS and Android game based on the forthcoming Paramount Pictures film World War Z is available for download for $4.99. You can check out the game’s trailer below.

Second World War Z Clip Gets Someone 7 Years of Bad Luck; New Banner
It's safe to say that the World War Z hype-wheel is spinning at full speed. On tap right now we have another banner featuring some good old fashioned anarchy in the UK as well as the second clip from the movie! Dig 'em!

In the film Brad Pitt plays a U.N. employee racing against time and fate as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly zombie pandemic, and his Plan B shingle is producing. Mireille Enos ("Big Love", "The Killing") plays his wife, a mother of two girls. Their co-stars include Eric West, Matthew Fox, David Morse, and James Badge Dale.

Paramount Pictures has premiered two new photos from the film featuring the actor and his onscreen family. In World War Z, Pitt plays a United Nations worker named Gerry Lane. He has the rug pulled out from under him when a dangerous pandemic sweeps the globe.

Sneak Peek of World War Z to Air on AMC During The Killing Season 3 Premiere


With Mireille Enos co-starring in both World War Z and "The Killing," it only makes sense that there's going to be a bit of a tie-in between the two projects this weekend with AMC planning to air a new sneak peek of the movie before the TV show's Season 3 premiere.

We'll be keeping our eyes open in case the clip pops up online early, but if not, "The Killing" returns for a third season on AMC this Sunday, June 2nd, at 8/7c, with a special two-hour episode.

As for World War Z, look for it in theatres on June 21st. It stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Eric West, Matthew Fox, David Morse, and James Badge Dale

Stuff We Love: Angelina Jolie Auctioning Off Jewelry For Charity

Angelina Jolie just seems to do good wherever she goes. We reported earlier that Jolie and jeweler Robert Procop have worked on a collection of jewelry together (and it is seriously expensive and beautiful stuff). Now Jolie is auctioning off two of her jewelry pieces on June 15 at the Jewellery and Jadeite Spring Auction in Hong Kong via Tiancheng International.

One of the pieces being auctioned is the Elise choker, set in platinum, and highlighted by six oscillating old-cut diamonds. It is estimated to fetch between $520,000 to $770,000. The second piece is a cushion-shaped 9.17 carat emerald ring estimated to fetch between $130,000 to $200,000.

Proceeds from the sale of both the jewelry pieces will be donated to the Education Partnership for Children in Conflict, a non-profit organization founded by Angelina Jolie which helps to educate war-affected children. Diamonds doing good? Seems like an obvious investment to us.

World War Z Game Infects Google Play, Looks Visually Impressive



2013 has a long list of movies that I am personally really excited for. For some odd reason, World War Z is one of these movies and today, the official World War Z game landed on Google Play. Published by Paramount Digital Entertainment, I would have to say that this is one of the more graphically-intense titles I have seen in a while, but with a $5 price tag accompanying it, I’m hoping for some great action and wonderful gameplay.

In the game, you travel the world attempting to save your loved ones from the infection. During the trailer, you are basically swarmed by oceans of zombies, but no worries, you have a huge machine gun to take care of that problem.

PITTSBURGH, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In light of Brad Pitt's recent announcement attributing his poor memory to prosopagnosia, or face blindness, Carnegie Mellon University extends an invitation to the actor to have his brain imaged and examined by renowned neuroscientist, Marlene Behrmann.

"Carnegie Mellon is one of the very few places that can both test for face blindness and perform the brain imaging in our state-of-the-art imaging center," said Behrmann, professor of psychology within CMU's Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Recently, Behrmann and her team of researchers identified the brain's system – an entire network of cortical areas that work together - that is responsible for face recognition. The findings, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), transformed neural visual perception research because they give scientists a focal point to develop targeted remedies for disorders such as face blindness.

"Faces are among the most compelling visual stimulation that we encounter, and recognizing faces taxes our visual perception system to the hilt," Behrmann said. "Carnegie Mellon has a longstanding history for embracing a full-system account of the brain. We have the computational tools and technology to push further into looking past one single brain region. Face blindness is an intriguing neurological disorder, and we have already turned up a few clues as to what causes this problem. If Mr. Pitt would be willing, we would be honored to image his brain for diagnostic purposes."

Carnegie Mellon is a world leader in the brain and behavioral sciences. To build on its foundation of research excellence in psychology, neuroscience and computational science, CMU has recently launched a Brain, Mind and Learning initiative to enhance the university's ability to innovate in both the laboratory and in the world.
